Greetings from our Primary School!

I am thrilled to welcome you to Community Elementary Primary School.  As the principal, I am committed to fostering a love of learning in each of our students that will provide a foundation for future success.  This is accomplished through high-quality instruction; supporting students’ social-emotional development; and, most importantly, through our dedicated teaching staff that nurture our youngest learners.  

To share a little about myself….I grew up in a small town in Manitowoc County before moving to Madison to complete my undergraduate studies in psychology.  My interest in education took off when I worked as a therapist for Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP).  That experience led me to pursue a graduate degree in school psychology from Illinois State University.  I then began my career as a school psychologist in northern Illinois, before accepting a position with Edgerton School District in the 2010-11 school year.  My experiences working with and advocating for students with disabilities gradually piqued my interest in school systems and ensuring that the structure of our school works for all students, regardless of ability or background.  As principal, I am honored to work with outstanding teachers and the best students and families.  

We know that students learn best when our partnership with families is strong.  I encourage you to take an active role in your child’s education by checking in with your child’s teacher, reviewing school work with them, asking about their school day, and encouraging them in their learning.  Families are also encouraged to join our parent-teacher organization, the Rascal Community Club, and volunteer for events they sponsor throughout the year.
