Yahara: Summer Update & YCC School Picnic I hope that you and your family are enjoying your much needed summer vacation. As you prepare to have your child(ren) return to school, there are several upcoming events that we wanted to make you aware of: YAHARA COMMUNITY CLUB SCHOOL PICNIC On Thursday, August 3rd, the Yahara Community Club(YCC) will host a B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Picnic) for families on our school grounds. This event is an opportunity for YVES families to get together and connect prior to the start of the school year. If interested, there is a YCC Meeting after the picnic that you are invited and encouraged to attend. The picnic will be from 5:30-6:30PM, with the YCC meeting starting at 6:30PM. CLASSROOM TEACHER Your student’s classroom teacher will be posted in Infinite Campus Parent Portal on Monday, August 21, 2023. If you need assistance accessing your parent portal, please contact Kathy Pierce at 608-561-6103 or kathy.pierce@edgerton.k12.wi.us. OPEN HOUSE Open House for all elementary students will be Thursday, August 24th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. During that time you will have the opportunity to tour the building, meet your student’s teacher, visit their classroom, and drop off your student’s school supplies. If you ordered school supplies through EPI, they will be in your child’s classroom. FIRST DAY The first day of school is Tuesday, August 29th. School starts at 8:18 a.m. and ends at 3:18 p.m. It is important that your student arrives by 8:10 a.m., to ensure they are in their classroom, seated and ready to meet their class when the bell rings at 8:18 a.m. I’ve included a drop-off and pickup map for your reference. If your child will be absent, please call 608-884-4931 to report their absence. If for any reason your child will NOT be attending the Edgerton School District this fall, please contact Brooke Schmidt at 608-561-6018 or brooke.schmidt@edgerton.k12.wi.us PICTURE DAY School pictures will be taken on Friday, September 15 during the school day. Empire Photography will be taking school pictures again this year. Summer School Parents and Guardians, We have a stadium field construction update: 1. All Community Elementary parking lots will be open for the start of summer school starting tomorrow, June 11th. Our needed access for truck routing has been completed. 2. The parking lot directly in front of the tennis courts will be closed through the summer. Students/families accessing the tennis courts may park in the middle school auxiliary lot and walk to the tennis courts as outlined on the attached map. 3. All high school classes and activities must enter through the main entrance door of the high school throughout the summer.

Edgerton High School Pool - (This is a correction from a previous post) Last day for open lap/swim is June 2nd. This summer the pool we will undergoing routine maintance and painting.

The 2nd graders at Primary community School and Yahara had the final Book Bowl competition. The two teams that were competing were named the Titanic Cats and Rainbow Readers. The score was close but the Titanic Cats came out in first place and Rainbow Readers were 2nd. It was a great celebration of reading!

The 2nd graders at Yahara decided to take advantage of the lovely sun and do math logic puzzles outside. They worked together in small groups.

We're excited to share some really special work our students did this year! Check out our two new school anthems for Community Elementary School and Yahara Valley Elementary School.
